30 YEARS TO SERVE IN PIKE SUPERIOR COURT

PIKE COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY BEN COKER SAID A JURY DELIBRATED ONLY 19 MINUTES TUESDAY BEFORE FINDING BILL WHITLEY GUILTY OF BURGLARY , CAR THEFT, AND CRIMINAL ATTEMPT BURGLARY. GUILTY ON ALL COUNTS.

JUDGE FELTCHER SAMS SENTENCED DEFENDANT WHITLEY TO 30 YEARS TO SERVE IN PRISON.

D.A. COKER SAID WHITLEY STOLE A LEXUS AUTO FROM THE RESIDENCE OF ELIZABETH LAMINSKI ON HIGHWAY 109 IN PIKE COUNTY , SEPT. 23 2016 AFTER A BURGLARY.

HE WENT ACROSS THE STREET TO A NEIGHBORS HOUSE—AND WAS CONFRONTED BY THE RESIDENT WITH A GUN.

WHITLEY FLED INTO UPSON COUNTY AND WAS ARRESTED.


PROSECUTOR COKER COMMENDED ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY MARK IRVIN FOR HIS PRESENTATION OF THE STATE'S CASE.
