THE THOMASTON-UPSON BOARD OF EDUCATION APPROVED THE 2023 MILLAGE RATE WITH A 13% TAX INCREASE AT A PUBLIC HEARING, THURSDAY, BUT NOT BEFORE HEARING FROM OVER HALF A DOZEN CITIZENS WHO QUESTIONED IT. BOE MEMBER SHELIA HALL CAST THE ONLY N0 VOTE AGAINST THE MILLAGE RATE.
AMONG THE CITIZENS WHO CHALLENGED THE BOE FINANCIES--PASTOR CLAUDE TURNER, TERESA COMPTON, MALCOLM NEAL, ERIC BERGMAN, TODD WILLIS, WENDY FALLIN, AND RAYMOND GALLOWAY WHO HAD ATTENDED ALL THREE PUBLIC HEARINGS.
