POSITIVE POLICE WORK BY THOMASTON PD

THOMASTON POLICE CHIEF MIKE RICHARDSON SAID TWO OF HIS OFFICERS, CPL. MARK JOHNSON AND OFFICER JUSTIN SANDERS ARE GETTING A BIG THANKS FOR THEIR HANDLING OF A TRAFFIC STOP FROM JOHN WILLIAMS, A BLACK MALE MOTORIST, LAST WEEK.

THEY STOPPED THE PICK-UP ON A LOUD MUSIC COMPLAINT AND DISCOVERED THROUGH VEHICLE REGISTRATION HE HAD A TRAFFIC VIOLATION WARRANT FROM OHIO AND WAS FLAGGED AS A DANGEROUS SUBJECT. TURNS OUT, OHIO WAS NOT INTERESTED IN SERVING THE WARRANT FROM HIS PAST AND WILLIAMS SAID THE SITUATION WAS QUICKLY AND PROFESSIONALLY RESOLVED. THE CHIEF SAID WILLIAMS LATER CAME BY THE POLICE STATION TO TALK WITH THE OFFICERS AND THANKED THEM FOR REASSURING HIS FAITH IN LAW ENFORCEMENT.

CHIEF RICHARDSON SAID WHEN CITIZENS AND POLICE RESPECT ONE ANOTHER, GOOD THINGS HAPPEN.
