FORMER U-L A.D. STEPHEN BOYD CHARGED BY THOMASTON POLICE

THE PRINCIPAL OF LAMAR COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL AND FORMER UPSON-LEE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR STEPHEN BOYD WAS ARRESTED BY THOMASTON POLICE FOLLOWING A DOMESTIC INCIDENT INVOLVING HIS ESTRANGED WIFE MONDAY EVENING AT HIS GOODRICH AVE. / N. STREET RESIDENCE.

POLICE CHIEF MIKE RICHARDSON SAID HIS DEPARTMENT ISSUED WARRANTS FOR BOYD CHARGING HIM WITH MISDEMEANOR BATTERY-FAMILY VIOLENCE AND THEFT BY TAKING FOR GRABBING HER CELL PHONE. BOYD WAS ALLOWED TO TURN HIMSELF IN AT THE UPSON COUNTY JAIL, WEDNESDAY.

THE POLICE REPORT SAID KIMBERLY BOYD RELATED SHE WAS IN HER CAR IN THE BACK ALLEY ATTEMPTING TO FILM BOYD AND A FEMALE WITH HER CELL PHONE--WHEN HE WALKED UP TO HER CAR AND GRABBED HER CELL PHONE AND SHE JUMPED OUT TO GET IT BACK.

MS. BOYD SAID SHE GRABBED MR. BOYD BY THE COLLAR AND HE PUSHED HER INTO A FENCE AND SHE FELL DOWN--THEN A MALE NEIGHBOR SHOWED UP AND SHE GOT HER PHONE BACK.

BOYD HAD REDNESS ABOUT THE NECK AND A SMALL CUT ON HIS HAND--POLICE SAID.
