BOTH FINALISTS FOR PIKE CO MANAGER WITHDREW

ACCORDING TO THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PIKE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS BRIAN JOHNSON —BOTH FINALISTS FOR COUNTY MANAGER HAVE WITHDRAWN THEIR NAMES FROM CONSIDERATION.

MICHELLE ARIZARRY, OF AUBURN, GA. , CITY ADMINISTRATOR OF STATHAM, GA. WITHDREW MONDAY AND TOLD PIKE OFFICIALS SHE IS TAKING A POSITION WITH SPALDING COUNTY, APPARENTLY ASSISTANT COUNTY MANAGER.

THE OTHER FINALIST, JAMES HEDGES WHO WORKED RECENTLY AS CITY MANAGER OF PELHAM, GA. WITHDREW LAST WEEK, AMID REPORTS HE IS TOP CHOICE TO BE THE NEW COUNTY MANAGER OF MONROE COUNTY.

CHAIRMAN JOHNSON TOLD ZOOM NEWS MONDAY, THE BOARD WILL DISCUSS THEIR OPTIONS IN EXECUTIVE SESSION AT WEDNESDAY'S MEETING —BUT IT APPEARS THEY WILL HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD AND START ALL OVER ON HIRING A NEW COUNTY MANAGER.


DUE TO SOME MEMBERS CONFLICTS THE PIKE COMMISSIONERS HAD DELAYED AN ANNOUCEMENT OF HIRING A NEW MANAGER UNTIL OCT. 18TH.
