TUESDAY, MARCH 16, ELECTION DAY IN LAMAR COUNTY, TWO ISSUES ON THE BALLOT

TUESDAY, MARCH 16, IS ELECTION DAY IN LAMAR COUNTY WITH FOUR NAMES ON THE BALLOT FOR CHIEF MAGISTRATE JUDGE AND VOTERS DECIDING THE CONTINUATION OF AN EDUCATION SPLOST. 

ALMOST 1080 VOTES CAST IN PERSON AND BY MAIL IN EARLY VOTING THAT ENDED FRIDAY, ACCORDING TO THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE. 

FOUR QUALIFIED FOR CHIEF MAGISTRATE, BRUTZ ENGLISH, JEFF MASON, SHANNON WILLIAMSON AND PAUL KUNST. AND SCHOOL SUPERINTENDANT DR. JUTE WILSON REMINDS CITIZENS THE $13.2 MILLION E-SPLOST IS NOT A TAX INCREASE. MOST OF THE SALES TAX DOLLARS WILL GO TOWARD PAYING FOR THE NEW HIGH SCHOOL--HE TOLD 101 NEWS.
