Upson County Sheriff Dan Kilgore says a pedestrian was killed late Friday afternoon when struck by a car while crossing the road to his mailbox on 36 east near Railroad Street.
The fatality has been identified as Jerry Allen Walker, the custodian at Upson Lee Middle School.
Traffic was detoured around the accident scene and Sheriff Kilgore says the investigation has been turned over to Post 26 Georgia State Patrol.
