THOMASTON POLICE CHIEF MIKE RICHARDSON SAYS ONE ARREST HAS BEEN MADE IN A SUSPECTED HOMICIDE/ROBBERY DEC. IST OFF TRIUNE AVE AT 121 WELLINGTON PLACE--THE SHOOTING VICTIM, MICHAEL GATES IN HIS LATE 20'S.
THE SUSPECT--19 YEAR OLD JORDAN JONES WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AT A RESIDENCE ON 4TH AVE WITHOUT INCIDENT. JONES IS CURRENTLY IN THE UPSON COUNTY JAIL CHARGED WITH PARTY TO THE CRIME OF MURDER AND PARTY TO THE CRIME OF HOME INVASION.
MULTIPLE OTHER SUSPECTS ARE BEING SOUGHT AS THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.
CHIEF RICHARDSON SAYS EVIDENCE INDICATES THE MURDER/ROBBERY WAS DRUG RELATED.
