Georgia became the 5th state to surpass the 300,000 mark in confirmed positive COVID-19 test on Thursday.
The 1,847 cases announced by the Georgia Department of Health put the total number at 300,903 since the pandemic began in March, 2.83% of the states population has been infected.
Georgia trails California, Texas, Florida and New York in the number of confirmed cases.
