PIKE CO PUBLIC HEARINGS ON VETERANS CLINIC

THE PIKE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WILL HOLD TWO PUBLIC HEARINGS WEDNESDAY 9AM RELATED TO LOCATION OF A VETERANS ADMINISTRATION MEDICAL CLINIC IN ZEBULON.

BOTH REQUESTS FOR REZONING FROM AR TO P-1 PROFESSIONAL/INSTITUTIONAL.

JOHN W. EDWARDS JR., ALLIE E ARMISTEAD, AND LAURIE FISHER, 30 ACRES OFF HIGHWAY 19 NORTH ACROSS ROAD FROM FRESHWAY NORTH OF ZEBULON.

THE OTHER REQUEST FROM THE EDWARDS FAMILY/JAASEE HOLDINGS/ 16 ACRES THAT ADJOINS THE OTHER TRACT.

BOTH WOULD ALLOW A DRUG TREATMENT CENTER ON THE PROPERTY WHICH COULD BE A PART OF THE VETERANS CLINIC.

THIS IS THE 2ND PUBLIC HEARING ON THE EDWARDS FAMILY PROPERTY— THE FIRST WAS RECOMMEND BY STAFF. STATE LAW REQUIRES A 6 MONTH LAPSE FOR A 2ND PUBLIC HEARING IF A DRUG TREATMENT CENTER IS INVOLVED.

JERRY COLWELL IS ALSO REQUESTING A REZONING FOR THE VETERANS CLINIC FOR HIS PROPERTY AT U.S 19 AND OLD ZEBULON ROAD—BUT THE CLOCK IS STILL RUNNING FOR HIS
A 2ND PUBLIC HEARING. THE FIRST WAS ALSO RECOMMENDED



ALSO ON THE PIKE COMMISSIONEERS AGENDA—EXECUTIVE SESSION RELATED TO COUNTY MANAGER—THOMASTON BUSINESSMAN BOBBY BICKLEY HAS BEEN HIRED FOR $72,000 ANNUALLY, REPORTS DEC. 10TH.
