QUALIFYING  IS  OPEN  THROUGH  FRIDAY  FOR  THE  MAY   19TH PRIMARY  IN  UPSON  COUNTY  AND  THERE'S  A  CONTESTED  RACE FOR  UPSON  COUNTY  COMMISSION  CHAIRMAN.  CURRENT  CHAIR  NORMAN  ALLEN--REPUBLICAN IS  CHALLENGED BY  DEMOCRAT  DEHUNDRA  CALDWELL,  AGE   42  OF  111 M. STREET. CALDWELL  LISTS  HIS  OCCUPATION AS  WASTE WATER  TREATMENT  ENGINEER.

OTHERS  WHO  HAVE  QUALIFIED--DISTRICT ONE  COUNTY  COMMISSIONER LORENZO  WILDER-DEMOCRAT , COMMISSIONER JAMES  ELLINGTON-REPUBLICAN,  SHERIFF  DAN KILGORE, CLERK OF  COURT  TERESA HARPER, CORONER JAMES GEORGE-ALL  GOP.
