THOMASTON MAYOR STALLINGS ON SEWER OVERFLOW

THOMASTON MAYOR J.D. STALLINGS SAYS THE CITY'S WATER/SEWERAGE SYSTEM CONSULTLANT E.S.G. IS TAKING CORRECTIVE MEASURES AFTER A SEWER OVERFLOW ON DAVIS LAKE ROAD AREA LAST WEEK. A HIGH PRESSURE CLEANING OF THE TRUNK LINE IS SLATED FOR FEB. 17TH.


THE MAYOR SAID 20% OF THE SEWER SYSTEM IS PHOTOED ANNUALLY AS PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AND SINCE 2016 $9.5 MILLION IN LOANS AND GRANTS HAVE BEEN DIRECTED TO IMPROVING STORM WATER AND SANITARY SEWER SYSTEMS. ALSO 100% OF SPLOST PROCEEDS FROM 2011 AND 2016 REFERENDUMS HAVE BEEN FOR SEWER UPGRADES.
