CITY OF THOMASTON WILL GO TO COURT OVER COUNTY FUNDING ISSUES

AT  A  CALLED  MEETING  WEDNESDAY,  THE  CITY  COUNCIL  PASSED  A  RESOLUTION  TO  SEEK  JUDICIAL  RESOLUTION  OVER  SERVICES  DELIVERY  FROM  THE  UPSON  COUNTY  SHERIFF’S  DEPARTMENT  AND  THE  UPSON  COUNTY  ROADS  DEPARTMENT.

COUNCIL  ALSO  APPROVED  A  RESOLUTION TO  WITHDRAW  A  JAIL  SERVICES  CONTRACT  WITH  THE  UPSON  SHERIFF’S  DEPARTMENT,  APPROVED  AT  THE  LAST  REGULAR  MEETING.

COUNCIL  SAYS  THEY  HAVE  NO  COMPLAINTS  WITH   SHERIFF  DAN  KILGORE,  THEIR  CONCERNS  INVOLVED  COUNTY  COMMISSIONERS  FUNDING  OF  THE  SHERIFF’S  DEPARTMENT  AND  JAIL.
