IDA PROSPECT ACTIVITY

AT  THE  SEPTEMBER  MEETING  OF  THE  THOMASTON-UPSON  INDUSTRIAL  DEVELOPMENT  AUTHORITY,  EXECUTIVE  DIRECTOR  J.R. CHARLES  UPDATED  THE  IDA  ON  A  QUAD  GRAPHICS  REQUEST FOR  TAX  INCENTIVES  FOR  MORE JOBS  AT  THE ROCK PLANT.  THE IDA IS  WAITING FOR  THE  TAX  ASSESSORS  OFFICE TO  DELIVER FINAL  CONFIRMATION ON  THE  VALUE  OF  QUAD’S  ASSETS.

 

PROJECT NEFT—NEGOTIATIONS ARE  ON-GOING, AND  NEFT’S  ENGINEERING FIRM  HAS   VISITED  THOMASTON. THE  COMPANY PLANS  TO  BRING ITS  BANKERS  TO  TOWN IN  THE  NEAR  FUTURE.

 

PROJECT  ALUMINUM—VIEWED  THE  FORMER  THOMASTON  MILLS  SITE ON  BARNESVILLE  STREET, BUT  THE  IDA  IS WAITING  ON  THE  PROPERTY  OWNER  TO ALLOW  ENGINEERS INTO  THE  BUILDING  TO  ASSESS THE   COST  OF  RENOVATION.  ESTIMATED  COST OF  CLEAN-UP  $150,000.
