UPSON EMPLOYEES CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON

THE  UPSON  COUNTY  COMMISSIONERS  HAD  A  CHRISTMAS  PRESENT  FOR  THE  WORKFORCE AT  THE  ANNUAL  EMPLOYEE  CHRISTMAS  LUNCHEON FRIDAY. A  $300  CHRISTMAS  BONUS ,  AND  THE  CHECKS  WERE  GIVEN  AT  THE  BANQUET. CHAIRMAN MAURICE  RAINES  SAID  TIMES  ARE  TOUGH, BUT  ITS  GETTING  BETTER, AFTER  EMPLOYEES EXPERIENCED  FURLOUGHS, SO  THE  BOARD  WANTED  TO  REWARD  THEM.  THE  COMMISSIONERS  NOR  CONSTITUTIONAL  OFFICERS  WILL  RECEIVED  THEM. ONE OTHER  GIFT  FOR  EMPLOYEES,  COUNTY OFFICES WILL  CLOSE  THURSDAY AT  2PM  FOR  CHRISTMAS.  THE  COUNTY  EMPLOYEE  OF  THE YEAR  WAS  ANNOUNCED, KENNETH  THURMAN OF  THE  ROADS  DEPARTMENT, AND  THE  LONGEST  SERVING  EMPLOYEE IS ROGER  SMITH OF  THE  ROADS  DEPARTMENT,  35  YEARS. THOSE  WITH  30  YEARS  OF  SERVICE, SHARON  FOWLER, RALPH  SEARCY,  AND  NORMA  HODGE.  25  YEARS, JULIE ANN  LEGG, JUNE SMITH,  RONNIE  WILLIAMS,  RONNIE  COCHRAN, STONEY  SPEIR, AND NEIL  REGAN.  CHAIRMAN  RAINES  TOLD  THE  EMPLOYEES  SOME  TYPE  OF  RETIREMENT PLAN IS  IN  THE WORKS,  ITS  COMING ,  HE  SAID.
