THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS CONFIRMED AN EF-2 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN IN UPSON COUNTY SUNDAY EVENING, HITTING THE DEL RAY ROAD AREA HARD. AN EF-2 PACKS WINDS OF 111 TO 135 MILES PER HOUR. UPSON COUNTY SHERIFF DAN KILGORE RODE IN A HELICOPTER WITH NWS OFFICIALS TO SURVEY THE DAMAGE, MONDAY.
THE LOGAN’S LANDING SUBDIVISION WAS ZAPPED BY THE STORM. THE SALES OFFICE WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED. AT 202 SHANNON COURT, MARCUS BRUNDIDGE SAID HIS FAMILY TOOK COVER IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM, BUT HIS ENTIRE HOUSE HAD EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. A LIMB CRASHED THROUGH THE WALL AND LANDED ON A PILLOW IN HIS SON’S BED.
AT 203 SHANNON COURT, WILL WILLIAMS REPORTED DAMAGE TO THE FRONT AND BACK OF HIS HOUSE.
AT 204 SHANNON COURT, EUGENE DOZIER REPORTED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE ENTIRE HOUSE.
AT 205, TONYA GLOVER SAID THERE WAS ROOF DAMAGE AND THE FRONT ROOF AND GARAGE DOOR SHIFTED.
AT 415 COBBTOWN ROAD, JUSTIN SERGENT HAMMOCK TOLD THE S.O. A TREE FELL ON THE CARPORT AND HEAVILY DAMAGED A 2000 DODGE NEON PARKED IN THE GARAGE.
