UPSON COUNTY SHERIFF DAN KILGORE TOLD 101 NEWS A COUPLE FROM MCDONOUGH, GA. RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES WHEN THEIR SINGLE-ENGINE AIRCRAFT RAN OUT OF GAS ABOUT A HALF MILE OFF U.S. 19 SOUTH ON LOGTOWN ROAD.
THEY MANAGED TO ESCAPE FROM THE WRECKAGE AND CALL 911.
THE MALE PILOT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE E.R. BY UPSON EMS WITH CUTS AND BRUISES, THE FEMALE ALSO HAD SOME LACARATIONS, BUT WAS NOT TRANSPORTED.
THE SHERIFF SAID THE HENRY CO. COUPLE WAS ENROUTE FROM DOG ISLAND, FLA. TO JACKSON, GA. WHEN THE PLANE GAVE OUT OF GAS . THEY CAME IN OVER SOME TREE TOPS AND PLUNGED TO THE GROUND NEXT TO LOGTOWN ROAD. HEAVY DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
