UPDATE - MONDAY FATAL STABBING IN THOMASTON
THOMASTON POLICE CHIEF INVESTIGATOR MONICA SNIPES SAYS A SUSPECT IN A FATAL STABBING MONDAY NIGHT TURNED HIMSELF IN AT THE P.D. TUESDAY AFTERNOON AT 5PM, 64 YEAR OLD JOHNNY MCFARLIN OF NORTH MAIN STREET.
POLICE CHIEF MIKE RICHARDSON TOLD 101 NEWS, THE VICTIM, 23 YEAR OLD LAZARION DIXON WAS STABBED SEVERAL TIMES AT 161 G. CIRCLE AND DIED A SHORT TIME LATER, AFTER AN ARGUMENT APPARENTLY OVER A STOLEN VOLLEYBALL NET. DIXON'S SISTER, TAMEZEI DIXON WAS ALSO STABBED IN THE LEG DURING THE BRAWL, AND SHE AND ANOTHER WOMAN, MCFARLIN'S GIRL FRIEND, KIMBERLY JOHNSON, HAVE BEEN ARRESTED FOR PARTY TO THE CRIME OF MURDER.
THE CHIEF SAID A DAYLONG SPAT ON SOCIAL MEDIA ESCALATED INTO A CONFRONTATION AT JOHNSON'S RESIDENCE AND THE STABBINGS RESULTED.
CHIEF INVESTIGATOR SNIPES SAID A KNIFE HAS BEEN SENT TO THE GBI CRIME LAB FOR PROCESSING.
